Classic Casual

"Erin Wasson returns for another season as the face of Zadig & Voltaire’s Spring 2012 campaign. Photographed by Fred Meylan in an ornate setting, Erin exudes casual cool in relaxed denim, bohemian prints and loose-fitting silhouettes." - fashiongonerogue
Erin is such a (beautiful) badass...she still remains one of my top favorite style icons and inspiration. Check out the behind the scenes footage of the Zadig & Voltaire shoot.

Lusting...

"Lust is an emotion or feeling of intense desire in the body....a powerful psychic force producing extreme wanting for an object, or circumstance fulfilling the emotion....a self-destructive drive for pleasure out of proportion to its worth. Sex, power, or image can be used well, but they tend
to go out of control."
Of all the seven deadly sins...lust, is the most common for men. For women...pride
Kind of makes sense? Happy Friday....what are you lusting for...

Boyfriend Jeans

I'm late in the game on the boyfriend jean trend - but finally got me a pair and am loving how they remind me of my Jr. High years when I hung out with skaters and was borderline 'sagging' my pants. They aren't the most flattering, but the loose fit and frayed holes feel so comfortable it's hard to overlook them. I kept the jewelry minimal - sometimes under accessorizing is necessary. Adding some hot pink lip stick never hurts either. Hot pink=Summer. I'm ready.

Chloe's Apartment.

Stumbling across photos of Chloe Sevigny's East Village apartment kind of made my morning...although, the fact that these were first published in 2007 has me feeling way behind the ball. Oh well, even though outdated, still cool to see the inside digs of this style icon....of course her place would be eclectic with vintage and feminine inspiration reflecting her personal style. These photos were shot from 2 different magazines...House and Garden in '07, and Apartmento in '09. You can see the difference in the photos...House and Garden being much more crisp and clean, where Apartmento has a vintage feel. Seeing these hallway and bedroom shots makes me really into wall paper again...the house I grew up in was covered in it. Oh nostalgia...

Muted Maxi

A casual relaxed maxi skirt is so perfect for a hot day...lately maxi skirts are so perfect for any day in my opinion. (love a high-waisted maxi with a bootie and a crop top!).  The muted colors of this racer back tank blended unexpectedly nice with the neutrals in the skirt...along with the mixing of prints. Gotta love when a last minute outfit thought comes together so well as you're hurrying out the door. I threw on every bracelet laying on my dresser and called it a day....

Sun Chasers

The weather in L.A can be tricky...'being so sure of it' almost ruined my weekend plan. My friend and I were on a mission for beach+sun...and seeing that the forecast said 85 degrees/sunny we didn't give it a second thought....afterall, it was blazing hot in my neighborhood. But, after we packed our beach bags and drove all the way to Santa Monica (15 miles can be a long way from West Hollywood with weekend traffic)...we approached Pacific Coast Highway to total overcast misty grey skies. We were pretty much yelling in disbelief...drove in circles and wasted time for at least 30 minutes so confused about what to do. Our optimism finally got the best of us, but after paying to park beach side, getting out of the car and freezing our a#%es off before we even got our towels out of the trunk, we called it quits and decided to make the trip back to Hollywood...land of the sun.
The day was a defeat in that we didn't get any rays until 3pm when we originally set out at noon...however...total success at hotel pool crashing on Sunset Blvd. A cold beer never tasted so good.
