Runway Rocks!

A lot has been happening lately! Most importantly...it's been almost one week in my new position at
LA Models, booking the Runway division with the amazing Runway team! Aside from my excitement factor about the job itself, the West Hollywood location is only 2 miles from my house (hell yes)...a 4 minute commute in this traffic infested city is happiness in itself!!

Angels Flight

Who knew! I was downtown last week with one of my girlfriends having celebratory drinks (I'm embarking on a new career path---more to come!) when we stumbled upon the randomly placed Angels Flight walking back to our car. She had actually done this $1 trolly ride up the steep hill years ago and insisted it was worth the memory. At least we had Sangria prior to this, as it felt like we were about to fall off the tracks at any second. But I admit, it was all the more fun because of it :) What a perfect send off to remember my last day working at FIDM in DTLA!

Quenching Thirst

Last shots from my desert get-away...seeing  these makes me wish I was still wearing a swim cover up and flip flops, exploring the vast property of our 'compound'...surrounded by friends, eating good food and sipping Mexican beer! After 4 days back in L.A, I'm just now feeling hydrated again...

Freaks for the Festival

Last weekend was the ultimate babe trip....six gals hanging out near Joshua Tree in the massive house/property we rented for 3 days I'll never forget. The Folk Yeah "Freaks for the Festival"  we went to on Saturday (4pm-2am, thank you!) had a 60's vibe, with total reminders of country style backyard venues I use to see concerts at back in my Austin TX days. We had so much fun getting dressed for the show it was a no-brainer to have a photo shoot before heading out....and we were all on the same page bringin' the chick-band album cover attitude!! I was in my total style element surrounded by feathers, tie dye, dream catchers, turquoise, silver, fringe, belt buckles and cowboy boots! Everyone who went to this show was wearing something cool which made the overall experience even better if possible...never seen more dudes with long hair and beards in my whole life! I drank whiskey from a mason jar and swayed side to side tossing my hair around and singing along with my girls...what a bunch of happy hippies we were :)

If you haven't had the experience of a live show at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneer Town, CA...you are seriously missing out. And if that isn't enough...pick a weekend when Chris Robinson Brotherhood (yes, Chris from Black Crows) are playing and stay on a musical high for days after the show...

"This is music to immerse yourself in, to get lost within, to experience on a subtle level beyond the simple pleasure of tension and release. These songs are about experiencing the journey, not yearning for the destination. Big Moon Ritual is a transportation device to the ultimate truth, and that truth – judging by the mature lyrical content – is love."

100 Days of Rain

What an amazing weekend in Joshua Tree!! From the 5 babes I went with to the huge house isolated on 600 acres entirely left to us...saying we had a good time would be an understatement. The fruit bat who somehow flew into our house the first night was one of many adventures....and due to that dry intense heat, 'clothing optional' made the most sense ;)
I can't wait to edit&post the pictures from the 'folk yeah' festival (reason we went to begin with) headlining Chris Robinson Brotherhood band - still on a high from seeing them live! My favorite song from their Big Moon Ritual album is, ironically being in the desert, 100 Days of Rain...

"Hangin on to the hangin' on
You can't make right lest you know wrong
Can't join the band unless you sing the song
So let bygones be gone"
