This past weekend was pretty epic -- two good friends of mine, who are also two of the most creative and in-love couples I've ever met, had their wedding weekend extravaganza in none other than my beloved Joshua Tree. Adding to the excitement, my long lost bestie who now lives in NY flew in town for the event...giving us the chance to road trip Thelma and Louise style (well, not quite) to the desert. From sketchy truck stops to our peaceful cabin adobe, whiskey shots, PBR, the local farmers market, a risky country style breakfast diner, dancing, fire pits, pappy and harriets, live music, old friends, too many tacos, live duck hunt wedding games, photo booths, local shopping, pearl jam car concerts, dirt roads and breath taking sunsets....the entire weekend was one to remember. The wedding itself had so much detail it was hard to not take pictures at the turn of each kitchy corner. I had no doubt that this artistic couple would go above and beyond with their combined creativity. The 'desert chic' theme was also the PERFECT place to wear my vintage velvet maxi dress I bought in Austin over the Christmas holidays...I just never found quite the right occasion....until this :)
