I pretty much had this exact same pair of wide leg pants in the 90's, when I was 12, and remember feeling really stylish and hip when I would wear them. Here I am again, double those years (and then some). Will be seeing these a lot more of this look come Fall.

Knot-It

Another hot day in LA ~light weight skirts are the only way to go. I knotted the side of the skirt to make it a little more fun and to show the shoes off more. It all just felt too conservative/boring as is. I like to change things up if I can to make them more interesting...

Hell to the Yeah

Have tickets for Lykke Li tonight at the Greek Theater! The swedish indie singer perfectly combines fashion + music....I've loved her unique style and sound for awhile now so I'm super excited to see her perform live knowing it will be an amazing show. Even better that it's happening at the Greek venue (my first time to go) surrounded by pines and supposedly more
intimate and awesome than the Hollywood Bowl.

 (Lykke won the ELLE award for best-dressed Swedish woman in 2008...Swedish people really do know how to dress well...)

Naked and Bronzed

I was actually waiting a week for Sephora to get this Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette back in stock (that's how awesome it is) before realizing that I could probably go to ULTA instead. Yep - called and they had it...the sales guy was so happy that I bought it there instead of Sephora...major competition those 2!

AND...it comes with this adorable little potion bottle of eyelid primer :)

Also picked up Laura Mercier's bronzer - I use her tinted moisturizer regularly and have tried the powder before and liked it - but never used the bronzer! How did I miss this?! By FAR my favorite of all the brands I've tried. It gives a warm glow and is the perfect inbetween of matte and shimmer, however, isn't shiny and doesn't BECOME shiny like so many others tend to be.

Taking a look at photos from Free People's August catalog shoot has me looking forward to Fall. Yes it's still the middle of Summer and I'm actually loving the L.A heat (I'm cold most of the time regardless)..but the floppy felt hats, layered clothing and chunky sweaters just get me excited...

My last evening at the cute cottage rental in Santa Monica my family stayed in while they were visiting Cali this summer...sad to leave this place it's become kinda like my 2nd home in LA. I found this kimono-looking jacket on a street sale rack nearby...I pretty much throw it over everything..
