This past weekend I attended the highly anticipated FIDM Debut Fashion Runway Show...my 4th year attending...no idea where time goes! The Debut Gala is always an energetic evening among the staff, guests and of course the designers themselves. This event is especially exciting for me as it showcases the hard work and talent of students from the Fashion Design program (some of whom I have worked with in the past) who are selected into this advanced 3rd year program. It's a cool thing to have memories of these students when they first began school and then witness their growth and creativity come to fruition in Debut. (one designer in particular I was eager to see this year was Joshua Christensen from Project Runway's season 9!) Debut also featured a little black dress challenge sponsored by label owner and FIDM alumna Karen Kane....the winner of this competition went to Joshua (unsurprisingly!) Check out the dress here! Overall, the innovation and cohesiveness of the collections this year as a whole might have marked 2012 as my favorite yet...
On the what-to-wear 'note'...I went with a short lace vintage LBD with cut out shoulders...also known as a 'cold shoulder' dress (so I learned that evening!). The long sleeves helped as it was cold and POURING down rain (this night also happened to fall on St. Patty's Day)...but I still froze my &*# off for the most part :) Oh well though...it was worth the pain...dressing up is always fun!

Just me and the boys...lucky to work with this bunch who crack me up daily :)
In honor of St. Patty's day...someone wore green on his tux :)
