Coachella Photo Journal

While the second weekend of Coachella kicks off today, I'm looking back on last weekend's festival and don't even know where to start with all the fun memories of our scouting adventures.
This was our crew, on and off duty....
Hippie heaven of fringe/feathers/prints/flower crowns, decorating our carpool-chella, throwing my arms in the air to so many bands I've never seen live, the A/X neon carnival party (maybe the best party ever of bumper cars, ferris wheels, winning overloads of stuffed animals and running into our counterparts of la models), the badass golf course house we stayed in, watermelon snacks, cold heineken beer, laying by the pool in the mornings, losing my voice, catching candy from Puscifer's legendary Maynard, sunshine, sweat, getting the VIP bands on successfully, running into long-lost friends from LA, aching feet, the desert sand storm that felt like a war zone....and last but not least, the Red Hot Chili Peppers closing show that had everyone going wild in the midst of a wind storm as streamers launched and floated onto the crowd as Anthony Kiedis killed it moshing all over the stage, per usual. Hearing Under the Bridge was a favorite moment by far...yes I have my old school moments, I'll forever love the 90s.

I'm with the Band

Looking back on Friday, the first day of Coachella, seems like forever ago! I'm still catching up after the 3 day festival that overstimulated all of my brain parts. Our team from La Models hit the ground day after day scouting new talent, listening to bands and Djs between 6 stages and tents, and drinking tons of water to avoid fainting in the desert heat. Cutoff shorts and a band-T seemed the way to go my first day not knowing what to expect. Boots were a good call to keep the dust out of my toes but after 14 hours of walking the grounds my feet were about to fall off regardless of what I wore. The pain was worth it...while work was super productive, I'm more inclined to talk about the music. In no particular order...these bands were on the top of my list this year: Yeasayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Violent Femmes, Puscifer, Wu-Tang Clan, Of Monsters and Men, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Band of Horses, Beach House, The XX, Postal Service, Knife Party, Hot Chip, the Faint, Passion Pit, Tegan and Sara, Jurassic 5, Bat for Lashes and Dean Can Dance...to name a few. Many more pics to come. Must sleep.
