All Roads Lead Home

This is what going home looks like now....the last year 1/2 has been a different world than I've ever known, yet with all the same faces that I've always loved. Moving my mom into a memory care facility was, aside from losing a loved one, the hardest thing I've ever had to do.  Going 'home' has never been the same since. The adjustment has not been easy, least of all for her, but in all the sadness somehow we all still manage to find those little moments - a laugh, a certain look, a clear memory and connection even if brief, a car ride to Keller's Burgers - those moments that make me grateful for what I do still have. These faces I've known all my life. Home isn't a house...I don't have a house in Dallas anymore...but it will always be home. It will always be her, and them....
