Just What The Dr. Ordered...

I've been itching for a pair of Doc Martens for at least a solid year now....it's that product of the 90's teenager that's forever a part of me (I will forever love flannel). I had 3 pair of Docs back in Jr. High/High School...feeling cooler every time I added a new addition :) So, it only made sense that my combat boot choice for 2012 would be a 4th pair of Docs (so mad at myself for getting rid of the other 3 years ago - a good lesson that when in doubt, keep it! It will probably come back into style!)
I went with a limited edition classic lace up....black leather with black stitching. The Dr Martens store on Melrose in L.A. has SO many options...but I knew at first glance that these were 'the one'. Can't wait for Fall to get here so I can start breaking these suckers in! Ok, I'm going to go play some Nirvana now...

Jacques Marcel

For those of you that loved I Love Lucy, you'll appreciate this :)
"Long before the ''Sex and the City'' gals got squishy over Manolo Blahnik, and Edina from ''Absolutely Fabulous'' prostrated herself at the feet of Christian Lacroix, Lucy Ricardo craved a Jacques Marcel. Remember Jacques Marcel?
This chic, fictional designer was all the rage in chic, fictional Paris."

Check out this stylist video my crazy creative friend 'revamped'...
(adding his own sound effects too of course that always crack me up).
He calls it "The Hottest Line at NY Fashion Week--Jacques Marcel Spring 2013".

This and That

Fashion shows for a cause (meeting Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley!) loaded gift bags, poolside lounging, mimosa brunch at Chateau Marmont, browsing Amoeba Records, concerts at The Wiltern, space shuttle Endeavour flying low over L.A, new Stella McCartney aviator sunglasses and downtown LA nightlife...
Sept has been a busy month so far.

Rock 'n Roll All Nite

Fringe-anything is pretty awesome to begin with, but a vintage reconstructed KISS band-tank dangling with fringe? Yes please. I've worn this baby a few times throughout the Summer, usually paired with cut offs or worn in jeans, but this time a proper paisley midi-skirt felt like the right thing to do...ladylike meets rocker edge is never a bad place to be.

Dock of the Bay

The days are numbered for my typical Summer wardrobe of torn jeans (optional cutoffs), a tank top and ankle boots of some sort. This particular evening in Newport called for a light kimono - really the only appropriate 'jacket' for warm days and nights. I tend to stay causal when I'm near the beach....love an evening stroll along the harbor followed by sushi :)
On another note, I'm realizing it might be time for a new pair of sunglasses. It's been almost 3 years with my Ray Bans (without losing or really scratching them--unbelievable) and after all this time I just haven't found something I liked more. I'm getting that itch though..sort of like wanting a new haircut...

Glam Snaps

Last week was CRAZY with Fashion's Night Out followed by the Macy's Passport event, GLAMORAMA! It was fun to see Sharon Stone (still looking amazing) present like she always does for this event/cause...the models looked stunning and I especially loved Nicole Richie's new line for Impulse! The night ended with confetti and champage and delicious food! A short hotel get away in Newport Beach was in order the next day...sometimes you just need to unwind and catch your breath. A gift bag full of beauty product from Neimans tends to help that relaxation factor:)
