Stella McCartney Autumn 2016

This was the coolest event in LA I've been to in....maybe forever. God Bless this city on nights like this! Why write about it when Vogue breaks it down here perfectly....
"Leave it to Stella McCartney to have the foresight to pick Amoeba Music for her Pre-Fall 2016 presentation. What better venue than the iconic independent record store in Hollywood to showcase her ’70s-inspired designs and celebrate all things that the fashion brand has always kept close to its heart: live music and a good party. The shop remained intact with its endless rows of CDs, records, and DVDs and was set up to look as if the clever Stella McCartney vinyl art was always meant to reside alongside albums and posters belonging to the likes of the Sex Pistols, Lil Wayne, Blondie, Misfits, Janet Jackson, the Doors, and Grateful Dead. Guests such as music powerhouses Ringo Starr, Anthony Kiedis, Dave Grohl, Beck, Kim Gordon, and Mary J. Blige seemed completely at ease in the music store’s space, and they mingled with other familiar faces in the crowd, among them Kate HudsonAmber Heard, Chelsea Handler, and Katy Perry. The aisles of records and CDs—somewhat relics of a bygone era—felt alive and fresh last night, thanks to McCartney’s infusion of fashion, food, drinks, arcade games, and, of course, live performances by an eclectic lineup of musicians including Dhani Harrison, Pink, Brian Wilson, Johnny Depp, and Marilyn Manson. Wilson played the Beach Boys hits “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” and “Surfin’ USA,” only to be followed by a surprise performance by Depp and Manson, who took the stage together to open with “The Dope Show.” Of course, not far from anyone’s mind was David Bowie, whose songs echoed from the store’s speakers throughout the evening."  (VOGUE)
